You know that for my money, THE Spider-man artist of all time was John Romita in the 1960s. But his son John Romita, Jr. is no slouch either. Actually, he’s pretty awesome, and he enjoyed a successful run on Amazing Spider-man for many years.
I found a copy of Amazing Spider-man #400 recently and didn’t think much of the series at the time, but then I saw this awesome Spidey splash panel in a back-up story pencilled by John Romita, Jr. and inked by his dad. Who cares that it was about Ben Reilly, the clone of Peter Parker? Romita’s artwork rocks the house!
