DC Comics began Mystery in Space as a science fiction monthly anthology in 1951. Mystery in Space #53 began Adam Strange stories, continuing from his first three appearances in Showcase #17-19. DC liked to include some real science in its sci-fi mags. So, alongside the Adam Strange, Hawkman, and sci-fi tales they ran three recurring educational features: Giants of the Telescope, Our Amazing Universe, and Our Strange Universe.
