Fresh Paint: Wolverine!

The source image for this Wolverine painting is the cover of Wolverine #23 as pencilled by John Romita, Jr. We’ve posted the cover below.

We had fun painting this, but ran into a brand new challenge: mixing primary colors to make flesh tone. We found a helpful page that improved our results. But, being slightly color-blind, we never know if the colors we mix will look right to anyone else. Wolvie’s flesh tone could be the color of vomited chocolate milkshake and grape juice for all we know. Maybe they sell ‘mutant flesh tone’ in a tube at the craft store?!
